Seibu Railway announced that the first train of the new L00 Series for the Yamaguchi Line (Leoliner) will be put into service on March 27, and also unveiled the design of the second train.
The L00 Series, which reads “Leo Kei,” will be introduced by FY2027, one train each year, for a total of three trains. Each train will have a different exterior, and the first train will have a design incorporating the logo of the Saitama Seibu Lions professional baseball team.
To commemorate the debut, a merchandise sales event will be held on March 27 at a special venue inside Seibu Kyujo-mae Station. In addition to key chains (880 yen), double pocket clear files (990 yen), and aluminum plates (two types, each 1,980 yen), a face towel (1,980 yen) with the name of the format designed in the style of the Lions’ cheering towel will also be available. The goods will also be available at Tomony stores and the Seibu Railway online store.
On the other hand, the second train, scheduled to appear in FY2026, will be designed to resemble the fireworks and illumination of Seibuen Yuenchi. The base color will be navy blue, reminiscent of the night sky, and the light effects will be expressed in the wrapping on the sides. Gold will be used for the front parts.
