NEXCO Central Japan extends 4-lane section of Tokai Loop Road near Kani Mitake Interchange, to be operational at 15:00 on March 27.

Posted on April 5, 2026 by Editor in Chief

NEXCO Central Japan has completed construction of a section of the Tokai Loop Road (C3) between Toki JCT and Minokamo IC, and will begin operating the four lanes (900 m for the inner loop and 300 m for the outer loop) at 15:00 on March 27.

The extension of the four-lane section is expected to increase the number of lanes at the merge at the Kani Mitake Interchange (inbound) and improve safety at the merge.

In the remaining 5 km of the section that was commercialized in March 2018, the main road structure is almost complete, and construction of road appurtenances, pavement, and facilities is scheduled to begin in the near future. The start of four-lane operation for the remaining section will be announced at a later date, based on the progress of construction.
