The world’s favorite story in reality. Immerse yourself in the world of “Sailor Moon
Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon was first published in the monthly magazine “Nakayoshi” (Kodansha) in 1991 as a manga series by the original author, Naoko Takeuchi. The manga series has been translated into 17 languages, and the anime series has been developed in more than 40 countries, making it a favorite not only in Japan but also around the world.
From 2003 to 2004, a special effects TV drama was aired. In recent years, musicals and performance shows have been held in Japan and abroad, and their popularity is still accelerating.
This time, the theater will be powered up while taking over the theater restaurant “Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon – SHINIG MOON TOKYO” that was operating in Azabu Juban, Tokyo in 2019, with a completely new storyline.
Two teams, Team Gold Moon and Team Silver Moon, will each perform, with a total of 12 characters and 24 members.
The theme of the story is “AI. The story begins with Usagi Tsukino, Ami Mizuno, Rei Hino, Makoto Kino, and Minako Aino going to a new theme park in Tokyo to play. The rabbits are enjoying the latest AI. Behind the scenes, the shadow of a mysterious enemy creeps in. ……
The enemy is Queen Valcia, who is trying to steal the “Phantom Silver Crystal” using AI technology. Usagi gradually falls in love with the AI rather than her real friends and her lover Mamoru Jiba.
Chibi-Usa, Haruka the Heavenly King, Michiru the Sea King, Setsuna the Pluto King, and Hotaru the Clay Moe also stand up to save Usagi, but they are powerless in the face of Queen Valcia.
This film, with its theme of “AI,” which did not exist more than 30 years ago, is a modern reinterpretation of the world of Sailor Moon.
The piece was composed and directed by Go Ueki and written by Shinjiro Kameda. The images projected on the huge screen and the performances of the cast members in sync with them are spectacular.
The show is subtitled in English, but it is so well done that the audience can understand the content of the show even if they do not understand the language. At a preview performance held prior to the opening, the show received rave reviews from the audience, who commented that it was “too good to be true” and “I have a feeling it’s going to be a buzz.
The high quality of the recreation of each character is also a highlight of the show, with Rina Koyama, who plays Super Sailor Moon/Usagi Tsukino from Team Gold Moon, saying, “I worked hard to create the characters after carefully watching the production.
Team Silver Moon’s Yumuna Yamaguchi, who plays the role of Super Sailor Moon/Usagi Tsukino, said, “I studied Usagi-chan in great detail, wondering what kind of girl she is and how she would react. We understood each other’s roles and discussed how Venus would do if she were Usagi. We also discussed what Venus would do, and so on.
The main part of the show consisted of a performance part and a live part, totaling 60 minutes. The live part included nostalgic songs “Moonlight Legend” and “La Soldier,” as well as “Brilliant Justice,” the main theme of the film, which the audience enjoyed together.
We also recommend shaking the “Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon OFFICIAL FANLIGHT” (5,500 yen), a merchandise that changes color in 11 different colors.
