On March 5, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan raised the danger information for Kuwait, Saudi Arabia (eastern part), Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman to “Level 3” (travel advisory) due to the deteriorating situation in the Middle East region.
In addition, since the closure of local international airports has made it difficult to leave the country, Japanese applicants staying in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates will be transported by land to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Muscat, Oman, where airports are in operation.
Although commercial flights operate at the international airports in Riyadh and Muscat, many users are concentrated from neighboring countries, making it difficult to secure flight tickets. The Japanese government will arrange a charter plane and transport those who wish to fly to Tokyo by air.
In order to ensure the smooth implementation of this assistance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has dispatched an Overseas Emergency Response Team (ERT) to the region to take all possible measures to protect Japanese nationals.
Specific dates and details will be announced in due course to those who have registered for the Notification of Residence or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ overseas safety information distribution service “Tabiregi-“.
