JR East will suspend service between Tokyo and Shinagawa stations on the Yokosuka and Sobu Rapid lines all day due to intensive day and night construction work, including tunnel repairs. The work is scheduled to be carried out three times during FY2026, the first time from after the last train on June 5 to the first train on June 7 (the section will be closed all day on June 6).
During the construction period, the Yokosuka Line will turn back at Shinagawa Station toward Kurihama, and the Sobu Rapid Line will turn back at Tokyo Station toward Chiba.
Limited Express Narita Express trains are cancelled between Shinjuku/Ofuna and Tokyo Stations, and operated only between Tokyo and Narita Airport Stations. Some sections of trains on the day before and the day after will also be cancelled.
For travel between Tokyo and Shinagawa Station, passengers are encouraged to use the Tokaido, Yamanote, and Keihin-Tohoku Lines, and no transfer to other lines will be made.
The timetable for the day of construction is scheduled to be available on the JR East application and website around the end of April.
