JAL Furusato Ambassadors and Supporters: Delivering the Deliciousness of Aomori Apples to the Whole Country! Frozen apple sweets developed by young female employees

Posted on April 5, 2026 by Editor in Chief

JAL, which has bases throughout Japan, has been continuously implementing regional revitalization initiatives (currently the “JAL Furusato Project”), and in August 2020 launched the “JAL Furusato Ambassadors,” cabin crew members selected through an in-house recruitment process who move to the area to promote initiatives in their respective regions. In December of the same year, JAL appointed “JAL Hometown Cheering Troops” who are involved in regional revitalization while serving on board. The aim is to develop products and solve regional issues for hometowns and other regions with which they have connections, utilizing the knowledge they have accumulated as flight attendants.

We spoke with Aina Sato, a JAL Furusato Ambassador who is involved in the development of frozen apple sweets in Aomori.

–What can you tell us about your initiatives?

Hello everyone, this is Sato, JAL Furusato Ambassador for Aomori Prefecture. Have you ever had sweets made from Aomori apples?

Since moving to Aomori, I have become such a fan of Aomori apple sweets that I have been on an apple pie tour of the prefecture. This time, I would like to introduce some frozen apple sweets that can be obtained online without having to visit Aomori.

–How are you involved in this effort?

We worked with the Aomori Prefectural Government to design a logo sticker to decorate the outer bag of frozen apple sweets. Of course, the taste is important, but the appearance is also important! That is why we held a logo review meeting.

Our focus was on an apple-shaped sticker that is recognizable at a glance and letters in a warm color scheme. We came up with a logo that is friendly to people of all ages, from the young to the elderly.

–What are your future plans and prospects?

Each of the four frozen apple sweets with our logo seal are presented here.
