Isetan Shinjuku (3-14-1 Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) will hold “British Exhibition 2026,” an event featuring more than 100 brands of British food and goods, from March 11 to 17. The event will take place on the 6th floor of the main building and will be open from 10:00 to 20:00 each day (closing at 18:00 on the last day).
The event is famous for its scones, of which about 10,000 are sold per day. This year’s scones will be the “best dough scones.” The best dough is the first dough made by mixing the ingredients together, so it has less gluten and is baked to a rougher texture.
The second dough will be sold as a variety of scones, kneaded with tea, figs, nuts, etc., and topped with plenty of jam or clotted cream. The event will also offer about 40 types of takeout tea, available only at the venue, to be enjoyed with freshly baked scones. There will also be a lineup of cute-looking iced tea drinks arranged with fruits, sorbets, rose blossoms, and more.
In addition, the Icetan Pub (Ise Pub) at the venue will serve authentic pub fare such as thick fish and chips, traditional meat pies, sandwiches, and sausage rolls, prepared by a British champion and an English chef, day and night.
