Intensive construction work on the Meijikan and Higashi-Meihan Expressways in April. Continuous day and night road closures and some IC/PA closures.

Posted on April 5, 2026 by Editor in Chief

NEXCO Central Japan Nagoya Branch will conduct intensive construction work on the Nagoya 2nd Ring Road (C2) Kamisya-Minami IC to Nagoya-Nishi JCT (in and outbound) and on the Higashi-Meihan Expressway (E23) Nagoya-Nishi IC to Kameyama IC (up and down). The period is from 10:00 p.m. on April 1 to 6:00 a.m. on April 24.

The Meijikan Expressway between Seishu JCT and Nagoya-nishi JCT (outbound) will be closed from 2:00 a.m. on April 7 to 24:00 a.m. on April 16 for day and night. On the Higashi-Meihan Expressway, lane restrictions will be in effect between the Nagoya-Nishi IC and the Kameyama IC (up and down) from midnight on April 5 to 6:00 a.m. on April 24 (except Saturday 6:00 a.m. to Sunday). Also, some IC/PAs will be closed on certain days.

On the day the regulation is implemented, traffic congestion of up to 23 km is expected on the Tomeihan Expressway, and drivers are urged to detour to the Isewan Coastal Expressway and Shin Meishin Expressway (E1A). If the detour will result in higher tolls, the tolls will be adjusted to the same amount as those via the regulated section.

During the construction period, the “Traffic Jam Avoidance Thanksgiving Campaign” will also be held. By entering the campaign through the “Wakuwaku Highway” smartphone app and using the designated route during the applicable time period, users will receive an electronic coupon “PayPay Point Code” (worth 200 yen).
