Akazawa Geihinkan, the coveted luxury inn in Izu Kogen, has been renewed. All guest rooms have an open-air bath, and only one “detached special room” has been seen.

Izu Akazawa Onsenkyo” will be operated by Kato Pleasure Group from December 2024. The Akazawa Onsen Hotel, formerly operated by DHC, and many other surrounding facilities will be renovated in stages from fall 2025 to spring 2026, and from this spring will offer an integrated experience as “Pleasure Resort Izu Akazawa Onsen. In this issue, we will report on the most luxurious of the resort’s four lodging facilities, the “Akazawa Guest House,” the “RED28 HOTEL,” an affordable hotel that was renovated from a training facility, and the latest information on the “GRAX EARTH FIELD,” scheduled to open this spring. Please refer to the separate articles for a stay report on the main “Akazawa Onsen Hotel” and the resort’s facilities such as the “One Day Onsen Kan,” “Akazawa Spa,” and “Deep Sea Lounge.

Akazawa Guest House (renovated in September 2025) With only 15 rooms on an expansive site of over 1,000 tsubo (approximately 1,000 m2), this lodging facility allows guests to spend quality time in a private space surrounded by a beautiful Japanese garden and nature. One of the rooms is a special detached room, which is ideal for special occasions such as anniversaries. There are a total of 15 guest rooms, one of which is a special detached room called “Yamamomo. All rooms are equipped with guest baths, using deep seawater of a different concentration (5%) than that used in the main baths (3%). As a benefit for guests, the one-day spa house, Deep Sea Lounge, and Akazawa Spa are all free. Three games of Akazawa Bowl can be played for free. Rates: From 47,850 yen (per room for 2 persons, half board, bath tax not included) Large public bath and sauna (open 6:00-12:00, 15:00-24:00) The restaurant offers kaiseki cuisine using seafood from the Izu sea and selected local ingredients. Dinner is served from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm, and breakfast from 8:00 am to 10:00 am (last service at 9:30 am). A total of 15 tables are available. A lounge with a view of the courtyard is also available at other times. A store (Souvenir) is located near the lobby. The shop is open from 7:00 to 23:00. The most popular item is incense, which has the same aroma as that of the Akazawa Guest House. The shop also offers a wide range of other items such as Japanese sweets, vases, bags, wallets, and interior goods.
