Sumitomo Fudosan Villa Fontaine and Rise Up will launch on April 1 a service in the Haneda Airport Garden, a complex directly connected to Haneda Airport Terminal 3, that allows visitors to the facility and hotel guests to experience a rickshaw ride while at the airport.
This service will be offered as part of the “Japanese Culture Experience All-Inclusive Plan” sold at the Villa Fontaine Premier Haneda Airport, a hotel within the facility.
The rickshaw service will be provided by Tokyo Rickshaw, a rickshaw company that operates a rickshaw business mainly in Asakusa. The rickshaws will take visitors on a tour of the “Japan Promenade” connecting the Haneda Airport Garden airport connection and the hotel entrance, where they will be guided by staff members and experience the hospitality that only Japan can offer.
The tour takes 10-15 minutes and costs 5,000 yen for up to two people per couple. Hours of operation are from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily (tentative). The reception desk is located at the Omotenashi Center on the 2nd floor of the Haneda Airport Garden, and reservations are not accepted in advance. For safety reasons, the rickshaw does not run. The maximum load capacity is 250 kg in total. The service may be cancelled due to airport congestion or other reasons.
To celebrate the start of the service, a discount campaign will be held from April 1 to June 30, offering 3,000 yen instead of the usual 5,000 yen, and an unveiling event will be held from 1:30 p.m. on March 31, the day before the service starts, on a special stage at the airport connection entrance of the Haneda Airport Garden. A stage show by an active jinrikisha jinrikisha unit and a jinrikisha demonstration will be held. No advance reservations are required, and everyone is welcome to attend free of charge.
