Universal Studios Japan will hold events to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the opening of the popular “Super Nintendo World” area starting today, March 18.
The theme is “We are all STARS!” The theme is “We are all STARS! The limited-edition food items that are only available on the anniversary will also go on sale on the same day.
The featured menu item is Kinopio Cafe’s “Anniversary Cake” (6,000 yen), a giant cake monument installed at the entrance to the area to celebrate the 5th anniversary, which can actually be eaten.
It features colorful decorations with multicolored stars scattered throughout and is a special size for four people. Everyone should taste it in unison with family and friends.
Kinopio Café also offers the “Anniversary Plate” (3,500 yen), a hearty meal menu. This luxurious plate features mushroom lasagna and fried chicken, which are modeled after Mario’s adventure stage, and fluffy bread in the shape of a superstar as the star of the show.
Mario’s Café & Store, located outside the area, sells a “pancake sandwich” (1,100 yen) that allows you to eat the superstar as it is. The sparkling, colorful pancake is filled with exciting toppings that look and taste like rich mango pulp & whipped cream, as well as star-shaped sugar with a fun crunchy texture.
The Hatena box-like box dish makes it easy to eat and is a good one-hand snack for when you are hungry.
In addition, fruit-flavored jelly sodas (900 yen each) with images of Mario (strawberry), Peach (peach), and Luigi (muscat) characters are also available here.
This is a delicious drink with a hinny sweet and sour taste and a plush texture. The drink is topped with colorful jelly and chocolate stars, so it is recommended to stir well and break them up before eating. The straws also have motifs of “beards” and “tiaras,” which symbolize each character.
