JR Tokai will set up “Cars with Children” on the Tokaido Shinkansen during GW. In order to accommodate more people, 24 more trains will be operated this year than the previous year, for a total of 70 trains.
The service will run from May 1 to 6 and will be available on Nozomi Car No. 12 between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka. No “seats with oversized luggage space” will be available.
The “car with children” is a car that allows passengers to ride with their children without worrying about their surroundings (general passengers may also ride in the car), and is located in Car 12 near the restrooms and multipurpose room where diaper changes can be done.
Tickets go on sale from 10:00 a.m. one month prior to the boarding date and can be reserved through EX services (Express Reservation, Smart EX, and LINE to EX), or purchased at train stations, travel agency ticket counters, and reserved-seat ticket vending machines.
