JR West will implement a timetable revision on March 14. The main points of the revision are described here.
On the Sanyo Shinkansen, a special “Nozomi No. 206” train will depart from Hakata Station at 19:18 and arrive at Shinagawa Station at 23:59. The Nozomi 206 will depart from Hakata later than the current last train to Tokyo, extending the time passengers can stay along the line by up to 21 minutes. The “Nozomi” train departing from Tokyo Station at 20:09 will be extended from Shin-Osaka to Hiroshima on certain days.
On the Hokuriku Shinkansen, some “KAGAYAKI” trains will shorten the travel time by up to 2 minutes. One new extra “Kagayaki” train will depart from Tokyo Station at 15:00, and one extra “Tsurugi” train will make a round trip between Tsuruga and Toyama Stations at night.
On the KOUNOTORI limited express train between Fukuchiyama and Shin-Osaka Stations, one up train will be extended to depart from Amanohashidate Station on a specific day. On the day of the extension, a temporary downbound “Hashidate” train will also be operated between Kyoto Station and Amanohashidate Station.
The “Kaisoku Oshiroshito,” reserved seats for a fee, is newly available on the Osaka Loop Line and Kure Line. On the Osaka Loop Line, the service covers sectional rapid trains that directly connect to the Yamato Line, and operates on all lines except between Teradacho Station and Tennoji Station. On the Kure Line, the service will be available between Hiro Station and Kaitaichi Station (and Iwakuni Station) during morning hours. Ureshito” will also be introduced on the Shinkaisoku line, and will be offered as a double feature with “A-seat,” which is equipped with reclining seats.
On the Nara Line, all regular trains will change to stop at Inari Station, which is the closest station to Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine. In addition, JR Kokura and Shinden stations will be added to the Miyakoji Rapid service, and the regular Rapid service will be integrated into the Miyakoji Rapid service. Direct rapid trains on the Osakahigashi Line will also newly stop at JR Noe Station.
In addition, a new station, Tegara-yama Heiwa Koen Station, will open between Himeji Station and Eikaho Station on the Sanyo Main Line. The Rakuraku Harima limited express train will also stop at this station.
