Study Session on Social Implementation of AI – Social Trends Learned from Prof. Matsuo and Prof. Yasar | News/Public Relations

Japan International Cooperation Agency (henceforth JICA) We are working to promote cooperation between Japanese companies and tech companies in Pakistan, Armenia, and Sri Lanka.

JICA is pleased to invite Professor Yutaka Matsuo of the University of Tokyo and Professor Yasar of NUST, Pakistan, to a hybrid seminar on April 7, 2026, at 18:30, to discuss the status of social implementation, R&D trends, and strategic positioning of AI in Japan and Pakistan. The seminar will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.

Pakistan:

The country has a very large domestic market with a population of approximately 220 million, seed startups are willing to raise hundreds of millions of yen in funding, outsourcing-related exports are thriving in the ICT sector, etc., and IT companies in the fields of AI, IoT, AR/VR are very well developed.

What is NUST?

Pakistan’s National University of Science and Technology (NUST), headquartered in Islamabad, is a research university in Pakistan that conducts research and education in machine learning, data science, robotics, and computer vision, with a focus on the School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (SEECS) in the field of AI, SEECS (School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science) in the field of AI. It contributes to solving social issues such as medicine, smart cities, and disaster prevention by strengthening its implementation capabilities through high-performance computing resources, industry-academia collaboration, and NSTP startup support.
