We are pleased to report on the media tour organized by JW Marriott International to JW Marriott Auckland and JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa, where we experienced New Zealand and Australia. Previously, we introduced the “JW Marriott Auckland” in Auckland and toured the surrounding area.
From this point on, let us move on to Australia and introduce you to the Gold Coast. To enter Australia, you must apply for an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) using the “AustralianETA” app and pay a system fee of A$20 by credit card. The permit is valid for up to three months for tourist purposes and is valid for one year from the date of registration.
From Auckland, the Air New Zealand flight was direct to the Gold Coast (formerly Coolangatta) airport, but the transfer between Japan and the Gold Coast required a change of planes in Sydney. The return flight was via Sydney. The domestic flight from Gold Coast Airport to Sydney International Airport was Virgin Australia Airways Business Class, which I will briefly introduce here.
The JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa has a beach within a 5-minute walk, a vast saltwater lagoon with white sandy beaches, a flowing pool with tropical fish, and a freshwater pool with slides, all free of charge for guests (room key required to enter the pool), The pools are free of charge for guests (room key is required to enter the pools), and are sure to be enjoyed by the whole family. JW Marriott, named after the company’s founder J. Willard Marriott, is Marriott International’s most prestigious brand.
There are a total of 238 suites and guest rooms. There are 23 suites, with the Presidential Suite the largest at 133m2, and even the most compact Junior Suite at 68m2. The one we stayed in this time was the “Executive Suite,” a 93m2 room with an ocean view. It is divided into a living space and a bedroom with a king-size bed. You can also go out on the veranda and enjoy the spectacular ocean view.
We also had the opportunity to visit a general guest room, the “Ocean View King”. There are four types of guest rooms: ocean view and hinterland (city side) view, plus 59 one-bed “king” rooms and 85 two-bed “twin” rooms. All are 42m2 in size, and 144 ocean view rooms are also available.

Restaurants include Citrique, which offers a breakfast buffet and Australian cuisine; Chapter & Verse, a restaurant and bar; and Misono, which serves teppanyaki and sushi. In addition, there is a spa “Spa by JW” where you can receive authentic relaxation treatments, and a fitness gym. The restaurant and spa will be introduced in more detail in the next article.
