TAOYA Akiu (107 Aza Yakushi, Yumoto, Akiu-cho, Taihaku-ku, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture) of the Oedo Onsen Monogatari Group is now offering a basic buffet plan with two meals per night. Prices start at 21,800 yen per person for double occupancy.
Located in Akiu Onsen, one of the three best hot springs in Oshu and known as “Sendai’s back yard,” the hotel was rebranded from the long-established “Iwanumaya” inn in 2023. The classical-style building is equipped with a large open-air bath, an open-air bath made of natural rock, and private baths.
The famous beef tongue is served not only grilled but also cooked with seasonal vegetables. The large Sanriku oyster fries are served with tartar sauce with iburigakko (pickled ginger). Other seasonal delicacies include swordfish from Sanriku and sashimi of albacore tuna.
TAOYA also offers an all-inclusive policy, which allows unlimited drinks at dinner, including alcohol, at no extra charge. In the stately fireplace lounge, guests can also enjoy a complimentary nighttime afternoon tea with sake or wine paired with sweets.
