Posted on March 12, 2026 by Editor in Chief

The Metropolitan Expressway will implement lane restrictions and entrance/exit closures on the Central Loop Line and the Inner Tokyo Loop Line on April 5, 12, 19, and May 17. This is due to pavement and floor plate construction work.

On the Chuo Loop Route, the left lane will be restricted in the section from near Horikiri JCT to near Kosuge JCT on the inner loop route. The hours of enforcement will be from 6:00 a.m. on that day to 6:00 a.m. the following day.

On April 5 and 12, the right lane of the inner ring road is restricted from near Tanimachi JCT to near the Shibakoen entrance/exit and from near the Shibakoen entrance/exit to near Ichinobashi JCT on the outer ring road. On April 19 and May 17, the left lane will be restricted in the inner direction only.

During both periods, the Iikura entrance on the inner loop line and the Ichinobashi JCT will be closed to traffic on the inner loop line from the No. 2 Meguro line up to the inner loop line of the Tokyo Metropolitan Loop Line. The closure hours are from 12:00 pm on the day of the closure to 6:00 pm the following day.

During the restricted period, travel time is expected to increase on each route, and drivers are urged to check the latest information. In particular, long traffic jams are expected on the uphill side of the No. 11 Daiba Route from around 10:00 to 17:00 from the Ariake JCT area.

In the event of inclement weather, the following dates are set as backup dates: May 31, June 7, 21, 28, July 5, and 12.
