Silver Creek Partners will open T9 HAKODATE (15-3 Suehiro-cho, Hakodate, Hokkaido), a complex facility in a revitalized historical building built in 1920 (Taisho 9), in late April.
Located in Suehiro-cho, Hakodate, a 3-minute walk from the Kanamori Red Brick Warehouse, it has 5 rooms on the second floor, each with a different concept. The building is located in the city’s Important Preservation District for Traditional Buildings and is also a designated landscape architectural feature.
The guest rooms include “Renga – Brick,” inspired by the history and memories of the port city, “Gunjo – Blue,” inspired by the night view of Hakodate, “Sakura – Sakura,” “Midori – Green,” and “1920 – Taisho 9,” created by a design team that won the Good Design Award in 2024.
On the first floor, Hakodate-based craft beer brand “white seed” will set up a brewing base. In addition, the third floor will be renovated as a lounge facility for co-working.
The new building was designed by architect Sekine Ryotaro, and was used as an office for the fishermen’s union. Currently, the first and second floors of the building are being renovated in response to the Japan Tourism Agency’s FY2025 “Tourism Town Development Promotion Project Utilizing Historical Resources.
