On March 9, LINE Yahoo Japan launched a new feature on its “Yahoo! Disaster Prevention Alert” that allows users to post local photos on the disaster map. The posted photos can be viewed on the app as well as on the PC and smartphone browser versions of the “Disaster Map.
The new feature allows users to post photos of the target area only when a disaster occurs or when an alert is required. The “Disaster Map” allows users to check local conditions that are difficult to grasp with text information alone, such as the depth of water during flooding, snow accumulation, icy road surfaces, and damage to houses.
Postings should be made under secure conditions, and inappropriate or false information may be deleted in accordance with the Rules of Use.
