Cab fare increase in Keihin, Sagami and Kamakura areas. First ride 500 yen up to 1 km.

Posted on March 11, 2026 by Editor in Chief

Operators in the Keihin, Sagami, and Kamakura areas that are members of the Kanagawa Prefecture Taxi Association will revise their fares on March 16. The Odawara area will not implement the change.

The new fares will reduce the distance that can be traveled with the initial fare by 91 meters to 500 yen for up to 1 km in the case of a standard car. The additional fare will be reduced by 25m to 100 yen for every 214m in the Keihin area and by 24m to 100 yen for every 223m in the Sagami and Kamakura areas.

Citing recent fuel and price hikes, the cost of installing cashless payment devices, and a sharp increase in app dispatch fees as reasons, the company aims to maintain and improve cab service and crew working conditions through fare revisions.
