Nankai Electric Railway will begin renovation work on the Nankai Sakai Higashi Building (59 Mikunigaoka Gokodori, Sakai-ku, Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture), a station building directly connected to Sakai Higashi Station on the Nankai Koya Line, after April 1, and will open as HiViE Sakai Higashi in spring 2027.
The 11 restaurants and service stores on the basement floor will reopen on March 1 in the same area as the Takashimaya Sakai store, prior to the renovation work. The first floor, where the supermarket will be located, will open in the fall of 2026.
The tenants leased by the company and its group companies at the Nankai Sakai Higashi Building will continue to operate, and the company plans to renovate the building as a new shopping center that will be familiar to commuters and residents along the station.
