Advance Experience of “Wandaria Yokohama,” an Immersive Experience Facility in Kannai, Yokohama: LED Tunnel x Digital Art Envelopes You in a Deep Sea of Envelopment

Posted on February 25, 2026 by Editor in Chief

Where is “WANDARIA Yokohama” located? The new building will be located in the BASEGATE Yokohama Kannai complex, a large-scale mixed-use area in front of JR Kannai Station, which includes a commercial area with offices and restaurants, and the OMO7 Yokohama by Hoshino Resort, a hotel in the former administrative building of the Yokohama City Hall. It is scheduled to open on March 19. WANDARIA YOKOHAMA, which was unveiled this time, is a facility where visitors can experience encounters with surprises and wonders with realistic images, allowing them to trip into an extraordinary space created by digital images. Visitors can also use the app to explore the creatures and nature they are interested in, and taste the limited menu at the attached café.

A preliminary experience of some of the zones! Your entire body will be enveloped by the beauty of the images and the overwhelming sense of immersion. We were able to experience Zone 2, “Dive to Blue,” firsthand. There are six zones in total, but the common denominator is the overwhelming sense of immersion and realism provided by the digital images! Each zone has its own theme, with Zone 2 being the deep sea. The LED immersive tunnel, one of the largest in Japan, is an extravagant 5 x 8 x 4 m (W x D x H) oversized space. One step into the tunnel and you feel as if you are enveloped by the images. You will feel as if you are diving into the sea with the images. Visitors will encounter sardine tornadoes, jellyfish, turtles, and a variety of other creatures. Zone 1, “Changing Colors of the Seasons,” is a highland, Zone 3, “Mimetic Forest,” a primeval forest, Zone 4, “Touch the Darkness, Dance with Light,” a cave, Zone 5, “Soaring in the Sky,” a lake and the sky, and Zone 6, “Into the Wonder,” an urban theme. It would be a good idea to visit the various zones and finally immerse yourself in your favorite area. Zone 2 “Dive to Blue” (deep sea)

The café menu is colorful and attractive! Choose your favorite zone menu! Wandaria Café, located inside the museum, offers a wide range of menus from easy snacks to hearty meals. The key point here is the colorfulness of the menu! The menu is inspired by the six zones and the four seasons. The doughnuts, which can be enjoyed while walking around, also come in different colors and have different textures and tastes. The photo-worthy decorations are also a delight. Other well-known menu items have also been given a unique look. Sandwiches and burger buns are made rainbow, adding a little surprise to this photogenic dish. Deep Blue Pizza (1,580 yen)

Four Seasons Curry Spring (1,380 yen)

One Dahlia Forest Doughnut (¥480)

One Dahlia Sea Doughnut (480 yen)

One Dahlia Flower Doughnut (480 yen)

One Dahlia Sky Donut (480 yen)

One Dahlia Cave doughnut (480 yen)

Spring cherry cream soda (880 yen)

Cave Iced Coffee (880 yen) The museum’s “Wandaria Shop” sells plush toys, mugs, and other goods that visitors can take home with them as a memento of their visit. Each item is colorful and reminiscent of the different zones. Also unveiled this time is the facility’s original raffle (price to be determined), which offers a chance to win a stuffed animal. The motif is based on the original whale design that also appeared in Zone 2, and its rounded eyes are adorable. Three sizes are available: large, medium, and small. Incidentally, the design was inspired by the fact that Yokohama is the city of whales.
