Universal Studios Japan will hold events to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the opening of the popular “Super Nintendo World” area starting March 18.

Under the theme of “We are all STARS!”, limited edition food and goods featuring the “Super Star”, a well-known item in Mario games that makes you “invincible”, will be available from the same day. The theme of the event is “We are all STARS!

The Power-Up Bands, a new limited-edition anniversary design, is a colorful version of the classic “Power-Up Bands” featuring the image of “Invincible Mario” with his Superstar. Wearing the Power Up Band on your wrist, you can experience the “Key Challenge” activity hidden in the area, collect coins and digital stamps for playing in the area, and check your record on your smartphone to further enjoy your adventures in the area. You can also collect coins and digital stamps to check your record on your smartphone as you play in the area.

A variety of goods featuring the “map” of the area are also available. Among them is a “face towel” accented with a Superstar patch, which can be used at home as well as in the park, and is recommended as a souvenir of your visit.

In addition, the “popcorn bucket” featuring the Superstar will be available in a special version that will flash in a variety of colors with background music for this one-year-only event. The familiar background music of when you get a Superstar will play, and you will experience a feeling of power and invincibility as you enter the shiny “invincible” mode.

In terms of limited food, the “Anniversary Cake” is now available at Kinopio Café, where visitors can actually eat the giant cake-like monument at the entrance to the area celebrating the 5th anniversary. It is colorfully decorated with multicolored stars and is a special size for four people. Families and groups will be able to enjoy both the attraction and the cake in unison.

The lineup also includes a hearty plate of mushroom lasagna and fried chicken, which is designed to look like Mario’s adventure stage, and a soft, fluffy Superstar-shaped bun as the star of the show.

Mario’s Café & Store, located outside the area, offers superstar pancake sandwiches. The sparkling, colorful pancakes are said to be filled with exciting toppings that look and taste like rich mango & cream, as well as star-shaped sugar with a fun crunchy texture.

In addition, fruit flavored jelly sodas with images of Mario (strawberry), Peach (peach), and Luigi (muscat) characters are also available.

During the anniversary period, visitors will also be able to receive a limited edition sticker by finding stars scattered throughout the area and delivering them to the crew. For example, you can bring any kind of “stars” such as popcorn buckets, food, goods in your possession, or photos you have taken.

If they cannot find it, he recommends that everyone unite to look for the star, such as by expressing it with their hands or body poses together with their friends.
