On February 20, LINE Yahoo! Search added a function to its “Odekake AI Assistant,” which uses generated AI to suggest sightseeing spots and model courses, to assist in finding restaurants.
The three new additions are “restaurant suggestions that meet your needs,” “local restaurant chain suggestions,” and “specialty gourmet genre suggestions. The maximum number of restaurants to be suggested at one time is 10 in each case, and additional questions can be asked to the AI to suggest restaurants that are closer to your needs.
The “Suggestions for restaurants that meet your needs” function suggests restaurants that meet your requirements when you enter your desired conditions, such as “looking for a restaurant where I can enjoy myself with my children,” etc. In addition to displaying an AI introduction to the restaurant and options for additional suggestions, you can also check word-of-mouth reviews and details about the restaurant.
This function can be used by tapping the “Start searching for a restaurant” button that appears in the search results after searching for “lunch” or “place name” in Yahoo!
The “Local Restaurant Chain Suggestion” function suggests local restaurant chains unique to a particular area by asking questions such as “What local restaurant chains do you know of in Shizuoka? The AI will introduce the restaurant’s features, popular menus, word-of-mouth reviews, etc., and the restaurant list can also be viewed on a map.
The “Gourmet Specialty Genre Suggestion” function suggests gourmet specialties in the target area by asking questions such as “Tell me about Kanazawa’s gourmet specialties. In addition to the characteristics and regional ties, restaurants offering specialty gourmet foods are introduced along with a map.
Local restaurant chain suggestions and specialty gourmet genre suggestions are available from the top screen of the Odekake AI Assistant, which appears by tapping the “AI Assistant” icon on the top page of Yahoo!
