APA Hotels & Resorts plans to open a new hotel on a site adjacent to the APA Hotel Koriyama Ekimae (1-9-18 Ekimae, Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture), which is currently under operation. The new hotel will be named “APA Hotel Koriyama Ekimae” and the existing one “APA Hotel Koriyama Ekimae Minami” in November 2027.
Located a two-minute walk from the west exit of JR Koriyama Station, the hotel will have 249 guest rooms. Combined with the 89 rooms in the existing building (renovated in December 2022), the total number of rooms in the two buildings will increase to 338 rooms, nearly four times larger than the previous building. The opening of the new building will bring the total number of APA hotels in Fukushima Prefecture to 4 buildings with 783 rooms.
Guest rooms are equipped with large LCD televisions over 50 inches in size, with the hotel’s in-house information centrally displayed on the TV screen. A self-extension function that allows guests to extend their check-out time with a TV remote control and a “cast function” that allows guests to view video streaming services such as YouTube on a large screen from their smartphones with two touches of a button will be introduced.
In addition, the hotel offers free Wi-Fi access, free BBC World News, and free VOD services. The bedding will feature “Cloud fit Grand” bedding, which maintains the comfort of conventional beds while improving functionality such as under-bed storage, a thick Nishikawa down comforter made from environmentally friendly recycled down, and two types of original pillows (“Pride Fit” and “Adjust Fit”). Two types of original pillows (“Pride Fit” and “Adjust Fit”) will be used.
