The Metropolitan Expressway will be closed to traffic between Shibaura and Katsushima (off-ramp) from midnight on May 9 to 24 on May 10 due to pavement improvement work associated with the renewal of the No. 1 Haneda Route (Higashishinagawa Pier to Samezu Reclaimed Area). As a result, the Shibaura entrance (downstream) will be closed.
The work is being carried out to lower the pavement, which had been raised to a higher level, in conjunction with the completion of the Haneda Line renewal off-ramp. During the construction period, traffic congestion and congestion is expected on the closed sections and surrounding public roads, and the company is asking for cooperation in easing traffic congestion through the use of public transportation.
When traveling near the closed area toward Yokohama, it is recommended to turn onto the Bayshore Route via the No. 11 Daiba Route. During the construction period, it is expected to take up to 60 minutes from Kasai JCT to the airport central exit (normally it takes up to 20 minutes).
