Ace, Proteka’s New “Starboard” Series. Four models in total, including a backpack with Japanese-made luxury and practicality, with parts also unified in black.

Posted on February 16, 2026 by Editor in Chief

Ace will launch a new series of Japanese travel bag brand PROTECA, “Starboard,” which will go on pre-sale at Ginza Mitsukoshi from February 16, and will be available at directly managed stores, online stores, and some department stores from mid-March.

This series of travel bags for adults combines luxury and practicality, with a lineup of four models: backpack (49,500 yen), packable Boston (49,500 yen), 2-way Boston (58,300 yen), and garment case (60,500 yen). The thick Japanese nylon twill fabric is combined with calf leather, also processed in Japan, and carefully sewn by Japanese craftsmen. The chic design is characterized by the use of black as a uniform color for all parts.

In addition, all models are equipped with a setup belt that can be inserted into the pull-drive handle of a suitcase and secured, enabling carry-on bag travel. Each model also comes with a drawstring made of the same fabric as the interior, which can be used to store small items.
