Posted on February 12, 2026 by Editor in Chief

Tobu Railway will begin using the new east exit ticket gates and new down platform at the Tokyo Skytree Station from the first train on December 7.

In addition, the current East Exit ticket gates and down platform will be out of service at the end of the train service on December 6. The upper and lower platforms can be used from either the new East Exit or West Exit.

The new station building is in conjunction with the elevated switchover work for the Tobu Isezaki Line (near Tokyo Skytree Station) Continuous Elevated Intersection Project being undertaken by Sumida Ward, and with the new East Exit ticket gate and new down platform now in use on the Tobu Zoo side, the current down platform will be discontinued after approximately 95 years.
