Nighttime lane restrictions on the Chuo Expressway from Takaido IC to Hachioji IC, starting May 11.

Posted on February 12, 2026 by Editor in Chief

NEXCO Central Japan, Tokyo Branch will enforce nighttime lane restrictions on the Chuo Expressway (E20) between Takaido IC and Hachioji IC. This is due to intensive work to repair damaged pavement surfaces, etc. The closure period is from 18:00 to 6:00 on weekdays from May 11 to 29.

During the construction period, traffic congestion of up to approximately 11 km on the uplink and 13 km on the downlink is expected between 18:00 and 24:00, and drivers are asked to divert to the Tomei (E1), National Route 20, Metropolitan Route 14 (Tohachi Road), Metropolitan Route 169 (Shintakiyama Road) and other routes.

If the tolls are higher than the direct tolls when using the specified IC by taking the specified detour route during the restricted period, the tolls will be adjusted to the same amount as the direct tolls.
