Toei buses will be detoured around Shibuya Station from around 7:00 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Waseda and Ikebukuro routes will not go through Shibuya Station.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation will implement detour services on the Waseda 81/Ike 86/Shibu 66 routes of Toei buses from 19:00 to the end of the day on December 31, 2012. All routes depart from and arrive at stops near Shibuya Station to avoid congestion on New Year’s Eve.

The Waseda 81, which circulates between the east and west sides of Shibuya Station and the main gate of Waseda University, does not go through the west or east exits of Shibuya Station. The route will depart from Jinnan 1-chome and head directly to Miyashita Park. Since the day is a holiday schedule, the route will not go through Yoyogi National Stadium and Shibuya Ward Office all day.

The Ike-86, which also circulates between east and west of Shibuya Station and connects Ikebukuro Station East Exit and Ikebukuro Sunshine City, will also operate from Jinnan 1-chome to Miyashita Park instead of via Shibuya Station West Exit and Shibuya Station East Exit.

The Shibu 66 route between Shibuya Ekimae and Asagaya Ekimae has been rerouted to avoid Bunka-mura-dori and Inokashira-dori. The route from Shibuya Ekimae to Tomigaya via Jinnan 1-chome, Shibuya Ward Office, and Broadcast Center West Exit will return to its normal route. Stops at Tokyu Department Store Main Store, Kamiyama, Seibu Department Store, and Udagawacho will be suspended.

Detailed implementation times are as follows. It is possible that the service may not operate as scheduled during the following times due to congestion.
