Odakyu Resorts opened the Ritna Hakone hotel (164 Motohakone, Hakone-cho, Ashigarashita-gun, Kanagawa Prefecture).
Rebranded from Odakyu Hakone Lake Hotel. The name “Litna” is taken from “Return to Nature,” and the entire hotel was renewed as a dog-friendly hotel.
The hotel will have a total of 15 rooms of 10 types, including rooms with private dog runs and balconies, as well as villa-type rooms. The rooms are designed with fewer steps to make it easier for dogs to move around, and amenities such as dog beds, tableware, and crates are provided. All rooms are equipped with hot spring baths.
The facility employs “manner colors,” which are color-coded to indicate the personality of the dog as identified by the staff, and provides services according to the dog’s personality. In addition to a “dog park” consisting of a natural grass dog run and a jabu-jabu pond, there is also an indoor inner dog run that can be enjoyed according to weather and dog conditions.
The dining room is also dog-friendly, offering “modern kaiseki” based on Japanese cuisine for humans and some custom-made dishes by a pet nutritionist for dogs. A lounge with free drinks is also available.
As a general rule, the number of dogs that can accompany visitors is limited to five (in the case of small dogs), and some breeds, such as American pit bull terriers (pit bulls) and Akita dogs, are restricted in their acceptance.
