S-CON will reopen Kitahiro Park (2-51 Sakae-cho, Kitahiroshima, Hokkaido), located on the west side of Kitahiroshima Station, in November 2026. Construction is scheduled to begin in April of the same year.
The park has been in operation for about 50 years and has become dilapidated, so S-CON is taking advantage of the so-called “corporate version of hometown tax payment” system. The company has already begun construction of a commercial facility, “Tonarie Kita Hiroshima,” on an adjacent site, which will also improve access to the station.
For the renewal, some of the overgrown trees on the north side will be cleared to create an entrance plaza and a lawn area. The south side will be a “forest garden” utilizing existing trees. Two new pathways will be constructed, one from the multipurpose plaza (Kitahiro Park Baseball Field) to “PARK SPINE,” which crosses the park in an east-west direction, and the other from “PARK PROMENADE,” which connects the east side in a north-south direction, with a circular stage plaza in the middle of “PARK SPINE.
In the future, the company plans to consider software initiatives with the aim of creating an “entrance park that everyone will be excited to visit.
