The Metropolitan Police Department will enforce traffic regulations on Hibiya-dori Avenue, Daiichi Keihin (National Route 15) and surrounding areas in conjunction with the Tokyo Hakone University Ekiden (relay race) to be held on January 2 and 3.

On the 2nd, regulations will be in place from around 6:00 to around 9:00 near the Yomiuri Shimbun, the start/finish point. The start time is 8:00 a.m., and regulations will begin at around 7:50 a.m. on Hibiya Dori Avenue prior to the start. Restrictions on the course will be in place for about 10 minutes as the racers pass by.

On the 3rd, regulations will be in effect from around 12:00 to 15:00 near the Yomiuri Shimbun. In central Tokyo, the course will run from Babashimon via Kajibashi-dori and Chuo-dori, and regulations will begin around 1:15 p.m. in the vicinity of Nihonbashi. For the return route, restrictions are expected to be in place for 40-45 minutes.

Regulation times at major locations are as follows, but times may vary depending on competition conditions. In order to prevent congestion on the day of the race, participants are asked to refrain from driving around the course.
