Urban Renaissance Agency and Keio Dentetsu Bus will open the second phase area of Bus Terminal Tokyo Yaesu on March 20, 2026.
Seven boarding areas will be constructed in the basement of “Tofrom Yaesu,” which is the north side of the Phase 1 area (Tokyo Midtown Yaesu), and the Phase 2 area will be called “Underground A” and the Phase 1 area “Underground B.” According to the image diagram, the boarding areas in the Phase 2 area will be numbered 21 to 27. According to the illustration, the boarding numbers of the Phase 2 area will be 21 to 27, and will be different from those of the Phase 1 area (11 to 16), which will be divided by the number 20.
In addition to restrooms and a ticket counter, the facility will also have merchandise stores and a tourist information center. Like the existing terminal, it is accessible from Tokyo Station through the Yaesu underground shopping mall without going above ground.
The terminal is planned to be divided into three phases with a total of 20 stops, with the third phase area to be completed in 2029 when it opens to the south of the first phase area. By consolidating approximately 1,200 buses, the project is expected to reduce congestion on the streets by eliminating on-street boarding and disembarking, and to improve access to Tokyo Station.
