The Hanshin Expressway has published traffic congestion forecasts for the year-end and New Year period from 2025 to 2026.
On the No. 3 Kobe Route, traffic congestion is expected to reach a maximum of 16 km on the downhill side (toward Himeji) around 10:00 a.m. and 21 km on the uphill side (toward Osaka) around 4:00 p.m. On the No. 11 Ikeda Route, traffic congestion on the downhill side (toward Ikeda) is expected to reach 19 km around 8:00 a.m. The traffic jam is expected to reach a maximum of 21 km around 16:00.
After that, traffic congestion is expected to remain below normal until January 4, but congestion on the Kobe Route 3 is expected to continue to be around 10 km, mainly on the downhill side. In particular, the 2nd is expected to be the peak day for both the up and down lines, with traffic congestion of up to 19 km on the downbound side around 11:00 a.m. and up to 20 km on the upbound side around 8:00 p.m.
During the period, the company encourages passengers to avoid congested days, times, and routes, and to allow plenty of time for traffic.
