Ise Jingu Shrine provides information on visiting hours and precautions regarding the 2026 Hatsumode.
On New Year’s Eve, the gates will open at 5:00 a.m., and from then until the end of the day at 8:00 p.m. on January 5, there will be no stopping time for visitors. 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on January 6, and 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on January 7 and thereafter.
Traffic regulations are scheduled to be enforced in the surrounding areas. The approach to the Geku Shrine will be closed until January 3, and National Route 23 and Oharaicho Street near the Inner Shrine will be closed to vehicular traffic throughout January (Saturdays and holidays only after January 10). Exit restrictions will also be enforced at the Ise West IC and Ise IC of the Ise Expressway on specific days, including New Year’s Eve and Sangatsu (three days before New Year’s Eve).
