Grant Aid Agreement Signed for Kyrgyzstan: Supporting the Promotion of Energy Conservation and the Introduction of Renewable Energy through the Development of a Training Center for Electricity Distribution Equipment ｜ News & PR

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Grant Agreement (G/A) with the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on December 12 in Bishkek, the capital city of the Kyrgyz Republic, for “Training Facility Development Project for Strengthening Capacity of Electric Power System Operation and Maintenance”. The G/A was signed by Mr. Almaz Baketayev, Minister of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Mr. Kotaro Nishigata, Director of JICA Kyrgyzstan Office.

This project will support human resource development for the operation of power transmission and distribution facilities by Japan, which has world-class grid operation technology, and will further strengthen environmental and energy cooperation between Japan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as contribute to enhancing Japan’s international presence in the energy infrastructure field.

Business Objectives

This project aims to strengthen training functions for operation and maintenance engineers of electric power distribution facilities by constructing a new training building at the Technical Skills Training Center for Electric Power Distribution Facilities and introducing training simulators for operation and maintenance engineers and simulation equipment for operation training of photovoltaic power generation systems.

(a) Facilities and equipment:

Grid monitoring and operation training simulator, photovoltaic power generation monitoring and control system, one transmission and substation operation and maintenance training building

(b) Soft components for maintenance of equipment.
