Ghibli Park “Spring Dondoko Festival” will be held in 2026. Experience in touch with nature and music, some projects can be attended without tickets.

Posted on February 4, 2026 by Editor in Chief

With the exception of a few events, you do not need to have a Ghibli Park ticket to participate, but you must apply separately in advance (in case of a large number of applicants, a lottery system will be used).

This is the second event following the one in 2025 to familiarize people with Ghibli Park and Studio Ghibli’s works. As a general rule, programs to enjoy music and nature will be held on Saturdays and Sundays of each week. A stamp rally will also be held (until April 24), which will take visitors on a tour of the park and Expo 2005 Aichi Japan Commemorative Park.

March Events

The event will start with a marching band performance at “Witches’ Valley” on March 14 and 15, with the Toyota City Junior Marching Band performing on March 14 and Toho High School on March 15. For this event only, a ticket to Ghibli Park, including the “Valley of the Witches” area, is required.

On the 21st and 22nd, fieldwork and pottery making experience will be held at “Mononoke no Sato”. In addition to activities in the satoyama inspired by “Princess Mononoke,” participants can try their hand at making plates from Seto ware, a specialty of the area. Participation is charged and open to two parents and two children (one elementary school student and one guardian) residing in Aichi Prefecture.

On the 28th and 29th, visitors can try their hand at tie-dyeing tenugui hand towels at Mononoke-no-sato. Using the traditional Arimatsu-Narumi shibori technique, visitors can make tenugui hand towels with a “snowflake” tie-dye that looks like snow crystals. There is also a fee for this experience, which is available for elementary school students and older.

On the 31st, “Spring Break Project! Let’s enjoy “Caterpillar Rags” and the nature of the park in spring with a creature teacher! will be held. After watching “Rags of Caterpillars,” directed by Hayao Miyazaki, which depicts the world of small creatures, participants will observe real insects, plants, and flowers in the park. Participation is free, and up to two elementary school students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. This event will be held on Tuesdays only.
