The Yodoyabashi Station West Area Urban Redevelopment Association, Daiwa House Industry, Sumitomo Corporation, and Kanden Real Estate Development held a completion ceremony for the Yodoyabashi Gate Tower (4-1-1 Kitahama, Chuo-ku, Osaka City). The building is scheduled to open this spring, with a grand opening scheduled for July.
The 29-story building with two basement levels was constructed as part of the “Yodoyabashi Station West Area Type 1 Urban Area Redevelopment Project. The building will be directly connected to Yodoyabashi Station on the Midosuji Line at the basement level. The name “Yodoyabashi Gate Tower” implies that it will be the starting point (gate) for the evolution and globalization of Osaka’s business scene.
The exterior was designed with an awareness of the beauty of the distant view and harmony with the surrounding landscape. The lattice-like design and the emphasis on the base of the gate also expresses a sense of dignity typical of a gate.
In the future, Okawamachi Park along the Tosabori River will also be developed as an open space to help create a lively neighborhood.
