Spa Resort Hawaiians underwent a phased renewal at a total cost of over 11 billion yen. We quickly experienced the new guest rooms and gourmet food!

Posted on February 2, 2026 by Editor in Chief

We saw areas that have already been renovated. The large-scale renovation of Spa Resort Hawaiians will start sequentially in 2025, and we were able to see guest rooms and other facilities that have already been renovated, which we will introduce here. First is the lobby on the first floor of Hotel Hawaiians. The carpet and check-in counter have been redesigned with traditional Polynesian designs. The hotel plans to add a new automatic check-in machine and a dedicated changing room for guests to use before check-in. Next to the lobby, the Waikiki Terrace Cafe reopened in December 2025 with a new menu. Previously available only during lunch hours, it is now also available for breakfast and tea time. The signature menu item is the “Premium Loco Moco. The menu also includes colorful rainbow cakes and malasadas, a local Hawaiian sweet. By the way, according to repeat customers, the original blend coffee here is reputed to be delicious. The future plans for this exciting space include the installation of a large coffee roaster in the waiting area and the sale of coffee beans by the measure at the adjacent store. The 20 Japanese-style rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors of Hotel Hawaiians East No. 2 have been redesigned as bed-type “Superior Japanese-Western Rooms. They feature modern and relaxing interiors while retaining the warmth of Japanese style. The rooms can accommodate up to four people. This time we actually used a “semi-double room” on the 8th floor of Hotel Hawaiians South Building No. 3 for one night. The room used to be a low-occupancy, low-unit-price single room (due to its location at the far end of the building), but by converting it to a semi-double room with a bright atmosphere, the hotel aims to attract more young couples and groups of young people. The maze of corridors leading to the South Building No. 3 is a bit confusing at first, but once the younger generation gets used to it, there should be no problem. The rooms, which incorporate a moderate resort atmosphere, were nice and easy to use. The nearest hot spring is the large bath on the fifth floor of the South No. 2 building. There is no view, but it is a good source of spring water.

I have tasted the new menu of food! Enjoying Local Iwaki Food Spa Resort Hawaiians has been focusing on “improving the food experience” over the past year by developing signature Hawaiian-style menus and increasing the number of menus, and has actually seen an increase in food-related word-of-mouth satisfaction postings. This time, we were able to sample the new food menu prepared for the press. There is a wide variety of Hawaiian-inspired menu items such as poke bowls, local Hawaiian noodle saimin, garlic shrimp, burgers, and Hawaiian’s chicken, all of which are of high quality and authentic taste. I thought it was worth going to Hawaiian’s just to enjoy these menus. Personally, I couldn’t resist tasty local delicacies such as ankou nabe, mehikari takikomi-gohan (rice cooked with mehikari), and petara soba (buckwheat noodles), and I couldn’t stop eating them all. Incidentally, the most recommended sweet was malasada! Malasadas are available at various locations within the resort, including the official hotels, the water park, and the large open-air bath “Edo Jyogawara Yoichi” (Edo Story Yoruichi).
