Sendai Terminal Building announced that a new hotel under construction, Hotel Metropolitan Base Sendai (1-1-1 Chuo, Aoba-ku, Sendai), will open on April 23. Reservations for the hotel will be accepted at 12:00 p.m. on January 27. In addition, a special commemorative plan for the opening will also be available.
The new hotel will be located adjacent to the Hotel Metropolitan Sendai (Honkan) at the west exit of Sendai Station, and will have a total of 56 rooms on 9 floors above ground. There are seven room types: double (19m2), twin (28m2), force (54m2), and universal (54m2).
All rooms feature separate bathrooms, toilets, and sinks, and are equipped with a mini-kitchen (without a stove), microwave oven, 72L refrigerator/freezer, tableware, cutlery, etc., in addition to amenities and equipment to enhance the comfort of a home away from home. The apartments are designed to meet the needs of inbound travelers, families, and groups, as well as long stays for business trips and sightseeing.
The 2nd to 9th floors are guestroom floors, and an all-day dining restaurant, AD-Base, has opened on the 1st floor. Breakfast (6:30-11:00) offers a choice of about six main dishes, including egg toast, and a buffet of salads, breads, yogurt, and drinks. For lunch (11:00 – 14:00), the restaurant offers a daily menu, hearty Japanese black beef and pork hamburgers, pasta, curry rice, acai balls, and more.
During café hours (14:00-17:00), customers can enjoy parfaits and tarts made mainly from fruits harvested at the company’s own farm, JR Fruit Park Sendai Arahama. AD-Base’s original coffee blends, baked goods, sandwiches, hot dogs and other light meals are available from early morning to late at night. Take-out available from 6:30 to 25:00.
The restaurant also offers dinner time (17:00-22:00) with approximately 60 kinds of food and drinks, and bar time (22:00-25:00) with a wide variety of wines and whiskeys including craft beers from Akiu, Ishinomaki, and other areas.
On April 23, the opening day, the restaurant will start operating from lunch time.
In addition, there is “JEXER LIGHT GYM & SPA 24 Sendai” operated by JR East Sports, a 2-minute walk from the hotel, where guests can use the training gym and spa 24 hours a day, free of charge.
