Universal Studios Japan opened “Universal Cool Japan 2026,” an event bringing together Japanese entertainment brands on January 30.

The three new attractions where guests can enjoy the world of “Detective Conan” are “Detective Conan the Escape,” a full-scale mystery-solving real-life escape game in which guests themselves become hostages; “Detective Conan Mystery Restaurant,” where guests are involved in a real crime during a live singing performance while enjoying a meal; and “Detective Conan x Story Ride – Gekijo no Jidosha Auto Driving” (a ride with a scream). The “Detective Conan x Story Ride – Gekijo no Autodrive” ride will be open for a limited time only.

The year 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the broadcast of the “Detective Conan” anime series, and the latest movie “Detective Conan: Fallen Angel of the Highway” will be released in April.

The lineup of goods includes a “T-shirt” (470 yen) featuring original artwork, a plush Conan key chain (3,200 yen), and a “cap” (4,700 yen) with Conan’s mascot perched on top of the head.

The T-shirts feature key artwork associated with the film version of “Detective Conan: Fallen Angel of the Highway. The special design features a large image of Chiyuki Hagiwara, a motorcycle policeman from the Kanagawa Prefectural Police Department, who plays a central role in the film along with Conan. The plush keychain features a snap-button strap for the first time, making it easier to attach. The cap features a cute mascot of Conan-kun, which has been reproduced down to the smallest details of his outfit, and a skateboard with a turbo engine is designed on the side.

Other new products include a wide variety of collectible blind can badges, stainless steel tumblers, bow tie-style bag charms, and more. Sold at the Cinema 4-D Store.

Meanwhile, food items of note include the “Bow Tie Sandwich Box” (1,500 yen), a menu item sold at a cart on the terrace in front of Lonvers Landing. The sandwich is made with a red bow-tie shaped transformer as the bun, and is filled with ham, cheese, and sliced apples, giving it a unique appearance and mature taste. It also comes with slightly spicy minestrone and potato chips.

The “Fruit Sangria Tea & Sherry Vinegar” (800 yen), a drink that can be served iced or hot, comes with a cup sleeve designed with Ai Haibara. The deep and gorgeous flavor of “sherry” vinegar and sangria tea has a sharp taste reminiscent of Ai’s mysterious atmosphere, and is sure to help you solve the attraction’s mysteries!

Other items available at the food cart in front of the California Confectionery include “Detective Conan Man – Keema Curry” (900 yen), a meat bun with Conan’s familiar blue blazer and red bow tie in the same color, and “Kaito (Thief) Kid Churritos – White Grape Flavor” (850 yen), decorated with sparkling jewel-like toppings and warning cards.
