JR Tokai will start ICOCA (TOICA model) service on JR West’s “Mobile ICOCA” application (Android version) on March 17.
The mobile IC service will be developed as a TOICA mobile IC service using the mobile ICOCA system. Charging can be completed within the application, and commuter passes can be issued and refunded in the TOICA area.
As with ICOCA, it is not possible to import issued TOICA commuter passes into the mobile ICOCA application.
Since it is treated as a type of ICOCA issued by JR West, JR West will manage the remaining charge balance and handle inquiries. In addition, membership registration to the WESTER service and credit card registration to the application are required for issuance.
Details of the service will be announced in mid-February.
