JR Hokkaido and JR East will hold the “Hokkaido Shinkansen Thanks to You and Expectations for the Future – Thanks to You, Hokkaido Shinkansen 10th Anniversary” campaign from January 21 to December 31.
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Hokkaido Shinkansen (Shin-Aomori Station to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station) and the 15th anniversary of the opening of the Tohoku Shinkansen (Shin-Aomori Station extension), welcoming events and other events will be held along the line. Reiji Nakagawa of the comedy duo Nakagawa Family has been appointed as the “Special Mission “Boosting” Stationmaster, and from February 1 to April 30, Reiji will make announcements in the trains.
Ekinet will offer a 50% discount “Tokudate Value SP21” from February 12 to March 12 and March 19 to April 19 between Shin-Aomori Station and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station, and between each station. All “Hayabusa” and “Hayate” trains are eligible for the discount, and the fare between Shin-Aomori Station and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station will be 3,920 yen. Purchases can be made from one month to 21 days prior to the boarding date (subject to advance acceptance one month and one week prior to the boarding date).
From January 21 to April 30, customers who use Shinkansen e-tickets to travel between Hachinohe Station and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station during this period will be eligible to win hotel accommodation tickets and JRE POINT. To apply for the prize, you need to enter on the JRE POINT website after using the ticket.
In addition, the “Did you know this about the Hokkaido Shinkansen? 10th Mobile Quiz Rally,” in which participants visit quiz spots (QR codes) at each station to collect stamps, will be held until April 30. JR Hokkaido Hometown Admission Tickets, which can be purchased from ticket vending machines, will have a limited 10th anniversary design at each station of the Hokkaido Shinkansen.
Future events are planned that will allow visitors to tour the Shinkansen facilities.
