Ashigakubo icicles, now is the best time to see them. Light up every day from Thursday to Sunday and February 5 to 15.

Posted on February 1, 2026 by Editor in Chief

On January 26, Seibu Railway announced that the “Ashigakubo icicles” (Ashigakubo, Yokoze-cho, Chichibu-gun, Saitama Prefecture) were at their best.

Ashigakubo Hyobashira are 30-meter-high icicles built on the west slope of Ashigakubo Station. It is one of the “Three Great Ice Pillars of Chichibu” along with “Sanjutsuchi no Hyobashira” in Chichibu City and “Onouchi Hyobashira” in Ogano Town.

The park is lit up every Thursday through Sunday and on national holidays, and projection mapping has been newly added this season.

On the days when the lights are on, the Seibu-Chichibu Line’s limited express train “Chichibu” will make a temporary stop at Ashigakubo Station.
