From June to January 2027, JR East will offer a 35% discount on points for Shinkansen e-Ticket (JRE POINT privilege) redemption.
For rides from June 22 to July 6, September 25 to October 9, and January 18 to 31, the exchange points will be discounted by 35% for all Shinkansen lines. As an example, a passenger can redeem 4,500 points between Tokyo and Nagano stations and 6,000 points between Tokyo and Sendai stations for a reserved seat in a standard car. For each period, reservations must be made one month prior to the boarding date.
Prior to this, the number of exchange points for “Shinkansen e-Ticket (JRE POINT benefit)” and “Ticketless Express Ticket for Conventional Lines (JRE POINT benefit)” will be revised for the boarding on March 14.
The number of points is based on distance and in units of 500 points. The price may decrease or increase depending on the section. The current price of 7,940 points for the same distance between Tokyo Station and Nagano Station/Sendai Station (reserved seat in a standard Shinkansen car) will drop to 7,000 points for travel to/from Nagano Station, while the price will increase to 9,500 points for travel to/from Sendai Station.
