AEON MALL Tsudanuma to expand to the former site of Yokado; to have two buildings, north and south, from March 2026; Mina Tsudanuma to close temporarily in early January

Posted on December 25, 2025 by Editor in Chief

Keisei Electric Railway and AEON Retail will open the Tsudanuma 12th Avenue Building as AEON MALL Tsudanuma South (1-10-30, Tsudanuma, Narashino, Chiba Prefecture) in March 2026.

This is the first phase of development and real estate business initiatives based on the capital and business alliance between Keisei Electric Railway and AEON. Aiming to become a new landmark in Tsudanuma, the property will be integrated with the nearby AEON MALL Tsudanuma (1-23-1, Tsudanuma, Narashino-shi, Chiba) to meet the needs of not only young adults in their teens and 20s and families raising children, but also senior citizens.

The building, with one basement floor and eight floors above ground (part of the eighth floor is on the rooftop), will have stores and facilities expected of an urban commercial facility, including a movie theater, an open food floor, an event hall, and stores offering a high-quality lifestyle (details to be announced later).

Tsudanuma 12th Avenue Building is the site of the former Ito-Yokado Tsudanuma store, which closed in September 2024, with a site area of 14,913m2, total floor area of 35,292m2, and total leased area of 20,100m2.

In conjunction with the opening of AEON MALL Tsudanuma South, the existing AEON MALL Tsudanuma store will be renamed “AEON MALL Tsudanuma North.

Tsudanuma 14th Street Building (1-3-1 Tsudanuma, Narashino-shi, Chiba Prefecture), located across from Tsudanuma 12th Street Building, will also be renovated to open as a new commercial facility in the fall of 2026. Mina Tsudanuma, which operates in the same building, is scheduled to temporarily close on January 12, 2026, and reopen in the fall of 2026.
