Yokohama Illumination “YORNOYO 2025” opens today! The entire city will be illuminated with light and sound shows and projection mapping!

Posted on December 15, 2025 by Editor in Chief

The Creative Light Yokohama Executive Committee will hold the illumination event “YORNOYO 2025,” which will cover a wide area of Yokohama, starting today, December 4. The event will take place in the waterfront area of central Yokohama (Port of Yokohama Osanbashi International Passenger Boat Terminal, Yamashita Park, etc.), and admission is free. Admission is free. Lighting hours are from 17:00 to 21:05 each day.

The theme of this year’s event, the sixth in the series, is flowers. At the Yamashita Park site, a 250-meter-long interactive digital artwork, “Bright Garden,” will be set up around the “Star Flower,” a light sculpture with a flower motif.

In addition, “Highlight of Yokohama,” a spectacular show that stretches more than 3 km from Minato Mirai to Yamashita Park, offers an immersive 5-minute experience with 45 facilities interlocked with light and music. The show will feature beautiful highlights of light and music along with the nightscape of Yokohama, which has been selected as one of Japan’s top three new nightscape cities.

One of the highlights of the festival is “Kuji Land,” one of the largest projection mapping events in Japan, in which a 25-meter-long whale of light swims. The entire rooftop of Osanbashi Bridge will be the venue, and visitors can enjoy the sensation of being enveloped in light on a wooden deck that looks as if it is rippling.
