On December 3, an International Emergency Medical Team, dispatched by JICA under the order of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, left Japan for the site of the cyclone that hit the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
This medical team consists of 31 medical personnel and JICA staff, including a four-member survey team that departed on November 30. In the field, the team will focus on medical activities of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Emergency Medical Assistance Team Type 1 (clinic level).
