JR Tokai is distributing a 5,000 yen discount coupon for the Tokaido Shinkansen for the year-end and New Year’s holidays, available only to passengers 29 years old or younger, starting December 1. The coupons are valid for the up trains (Tokyo-bound) at the end of the year and the down trains (Shin-Osaka-bound) at the beginning of the new year.
If you answer a simple questionnaire from the dedicated website, you will receive a coupon code that can be used for JR Tokai Tours’ EX Travel Pack “Year-end and New Year’s Limited! Tokaido Shinkansen One-way Plan” of JR Tokai Tours. To use the coupon, you need to register as an Express Reservation member or Smart EX member, and can only use it once per member. Please note that the coupon cannot be used in conjunction with other coupons and will not be returned if the reservation is cancelled.
For example, a one-way trip from Nagoya to Tokyo for one adult passenger in a standard reserved seat in a standard car would normally cost 11,180 yen, but with the coupon it would be 6,180 yen. Shin-Osaka to Tokyo is normally 14,530 yen, but with the coupon it will be 9,530 yen. The time change for the Shinkansen can be made as many times as you like for free. In addition, 300 TOKAI STATION POINT (tospo), a common point of the JR Tokai Group, is included.
